Black Hole Wars: The Battle for Theoretical Supremacy

Hello, I am today's guest blogger and a new addition to the said.fm team. Choosing just one podcast to recommend was a hard task, as I have been overwhelmed by all the titillating tidbits and fascinating facts I have at my fingertips whilst working here.

After much deliberation, today's recommendation has to go to Leonard Susskind's take on the Black Hole War: the battle between Susskind and his legendary archnemesis, Stephen Hawking over the nature of black holes. Along with some reluctantly affectionate anecdotes about his rival - in Susskind's own words, the 'evel knievel' of quantum physics - this lecture is an accessibly witty presentation of Susskind's own ideas on the hotly contested topic.
