First Laugh, Then Think

Yesterday I spent the day at a rather fascinating 'elevator pitch' workshop with Bill Joos, and during the session Bill played a rather entertaining audio clip from NPR which I thought I would share with you today :)

So, the audio is of last years Ig Nobel Prizes and features many researchers making a statement, like 'does a cow that has a name give more milk than a cow that doesn't'.  All these statements are completely true and although they may make you laugh at first, they also leave you curious to find out more.

You might be wondering what all this has to do with doing an elevator pitch!... it's simply about making a brief statement which heightens others curiousity, leaving them eager to hear more.

Go on, have a listen, have a laugh and have a think!
