Hi, it's the mystery said.fmer again. I have commandeered the said.fm blog for today, because I just had to tell you about the amazing podcast on immortality from WNYC Radiolab.  From the lifespan of cells to a certain immortal jellyfish, the awesome guys over at Radiolab have put together a comprehensive guide to mortality - from a molecular level to our own modern day quest for the fountain of youth.

But if you're thinking of tuning in to find out how to make your own philosopher's stone, be warned, immortality isn't quite as easy as it sounds. Apart from the technicalities of making a body last forever, there is still moral dilemma of having an ancient population - a problem which is already facing the developed world. I can still dream though... one sprightly pensioner wouldn't be such a big problem... right?
