Many of you amidst this great recession might be, like us at Said.fm, embarking on a start-up.  If you are or thinking about starting a new venture then there are lots of great talks and radio programmes online to listen to while your code monk-eying away!

So here's one I listened to today; David Heineimeier Hansson talking on unlearning your MBA.  David is the creator of Ruby on Rails and partner at the successful 37 Signals.  The talk is great to really focus on what's important for a young start-up, in the business sense and David talks passionately on the subject making for a compelling listen.

Startups: Marry your Co-founder...

Living through the early stages of a startup, I know how important it is to have a co-founder to share the vision as well as the ups and downs with. So whether like me, you are actually married to your co-founder or not, the relationship is definitely like a marraige.

In 'How to Pick a Co-founder' by Venture Hacks they talk more about the intricacies of founder dynamics as well as how to choose a co-founder in the first place.  The interview format features Nivi and Naval discussing the importance of co-founders.

For those of you who are working on a startup, Nivi and Naval's Venture Hack's site is an invaluable source of advice, with the occasional audio file to listen to on the go. As entrepreneurs, investors and advisors themselves their information is well rounded from all perspectives.

Knowing the pain of empty pockets and bootstrapping a startup, I was eager to listen to this Guardian podcast (How to get your Small Business off the Ground) which gives you a 6 minute world wind tour of investment for new businesses.

On listening I did discover a few tips, some of which are obvious and others not so, and appreciated the format of keeping it short, sweet and informative. The contributions from a wide variety of people, all with their own tuppence worth of advice, are useful as there's something there that will appeal to all types of startups and individuals.

The Guardian has a mind boggling variety of podcasts, from informative advice such as this one through to science, arts, technology... the list goes on and on.
